Gareth Hopkins went fastest both days again, 2seconds up on the next rider on Saturday and 4 seconds up on Sunday, the only rider under 2 minutes on Sunday. The big question is Can anyone beat Gareth on the Abercarn track?? We'll see in a couple of weks..............
The track dried out pretty good on Saturday after rain on Friday night.
More rain on Saturday night made Sunday practice extremely slippy. Just as the track was sorting itself out again towards the end of the first runs on Sunday it absolutely slashed down. In fact the rain came down just as the experts and elites were preparing for their first runs. The result of this was to slow them all down loads, except Gareth H. who went fastest!!! What happened was, after the first run Gareth Hopkins was the only Expert or Elite rider in the top 10!!! The rest of the numbers made up by Youths, Juniors, Masters and Seniors. The second runs changed things a bit, but there are now a few more riders in the UK with UCI points.
