Dragon Downhill Club
You can find us at Bryn Bach Park in the Summer on Tuesday nights from around 5-6ish to dark depending on work, the weather and how much sprinting has gone down. We are also going up to Bryn Bach on Sunday mornings through the autumn and winter when we arn't DH racing from 10am to midday.
We ride at Newport Skatepark, Newport on Monday nights during the Winter 5pm to 8pm, Wednesday 6pm to 8pm and sometimes Thursday nights 8pm til 10pm. MTB's are welcome, but I reckon a BMX is the one, call them on 01633 265709 for directions or click here for a map. We start going to Newport when the nights start drawing in. Can't guarantee we'll always be there mind, injuries suck.
Caerphilly Trails. These dirt jumps are open access. Don't ride there in the wet and please repair any damage you cause before you leave.
Put Dragon Downhill on your BC licence this year if you are riding private or for an unaffiliated club, the more members we have, the more power we have (and Vice Versa).
Dragon downhill consists mainly as a tool to facilitate DH races in South Wales. There are other more 'Club' clubs that you can use to meet other DH MTB people
Don't forget if you visit anyone elses track or trails take ALL your litter home with you and pick up any that you didn't drop as well.

When you see the castle on your left turn right (wrong
way up a one way) (or round the one way system and through the traffic lights
if you are driving) and you will come to the post office.
Directly opposite
the post office is Van Road Go along Van Road past houses, a pub (the goodrich),
up a little hill, past some office buildings, round a corner, past a factory,
round another corner and you will come to the base of a big hill.
On the left
is a forestry car park. Go into it and past the gate and up the forest road 250yrds.

From M4 South
Get off the M4 at Junction 28, get on the A467 to Bassaleg/Risca/Crosskeys. After about 1 mile you will come to a roundabout. Take the second left on the A468 to Caerphilly. Follow this for about 10 miles and you will come to Caerphilly. You will pass a big building on the left (ELWA), go over a river bridge and come to a roundabout. Turn LEFT at this roundabout (CROSSWAYS) (turn right for macdonalds, kentucky fried chicken and a pizzahut).
From Cardiff, M4 North
Take M4 Junction 32. Go North to Merthyr Tydfil. Take second junction to CAERPHILLY. Follow the signs to Caerphilly and go all the way up the hill past GEAES (jet engine place). Take second exit at the roundabout at the top (this road takes you round Caerphilly centre). Go straight over the next roundabout (school on the left), over the next roundabout (Cedar tree pub on the left), Straight over the next roundabout (Crossways) (Mcdonalds on the right)
From (Crossways)
Continue along this road for 2 miles (Lansbury Park on the right) and you will come to a T junction (careful not to drive too fast or you'll crash here, the T junction is around a blind corner and the road you are on ends) Go 1/2 way along this road and on the right there is an outdoor skatepark that is good for a bit of fun. Anyway, at the T junction (with Van road) turn LEFT (the Goodrich pub is on the right) and go up the gentle hill. Continue along this road around a couple of corners and you leave the factories and offices behind. You will come to the bottom of a hill. Turn left here into a Forestry Commision carpark. Park the car and go up past the metal gate, walk up the forest road 100m, there is a wide track on your right, the trails are up there, you will be able to see the style.
