First of all a MASSIVE thans to the Dragon Downhill team. Ryan for heading up the marshal team. All the marshals, sorry guys I don't want to get involved in individual names, but you know who you are and you did a top job this weekend. Special note to Jennie and Kenny who manned the transport pickup and helped implement the new rules. I think the transport was OK (worked for Abercarn anyway) I'll be talking to F.C. about how we can take this forwards from now, thanks to everyone who made suggestions over the weekend, I did listen and I'll think about it. Thanks to marshal Nick who mentioned in passing that he counted 816 practice runs (+/- 10) from 08:00 to 11:20 on Sunday. That's 43 truck loads and an average of 2.7 runs each, some did more,some did less. It's also 233 uplifts an hour which is way over the required 150 uplifts an hour required for a UCI WC event. Thanks to my girls who manned registration and ran the timing system. Thanks to JonFen for bailing me out when required and running the finish so I could race. thanks to Extreme Medical for picking us up when we fell. Thanks to the Buttenshaws for feeding us and thanks to the three shops who kept our bikes running, The Bike Cellar, Descent Gear and Bike Base Abergavenny.
Thanks to all you racers who came and supported our race. A special thanks to EVERYONE who did a sterling job of tidying up after themselves, the venue was the best i've ever seen after a race, it took me like 30 minutes to pick up the little litter there was and get out of there. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I hate picking up other peoples litter (it makes me scowl, yes even more than normal). Please keep this up at future races.
Stanny won the Marzocchi 888 forks, nice one fella, Rowan was second overall with JUNIOR rider Nikki Whiles third fastest over the weekend, I'd given up on him now he's all 'loved up', wrong again jas, nice one clart.
